Dear Sir:

Re: University of Florida Training Reactor Facility License: R-56, Docket No. 50-83 Request for Change in Technical Specifications

]

A proposed Amendment 20 to the UFTR Technical Specifications (R-56 License) possibly affecting Page 12 of the approved Tech Specs was submitted via letter dated June 2,1994. We would like to have you disregard the June 2,1994 submittal. Based upon discussions with NRC l staff and review of the applicable portion of 10 CFR Part 20, we are changing the references in this amendment. Again, the request is to amend the R-56 License as necessary to specify that j liquid releases from the facility holding tanks shall be in accordance with the requirements of  ;

10 CFR 20.1301 and within the limits specified in 10 CFR 20.1302. An additional change is l made on Page 20, Section 4.2.4(3) to make the references to liquid effluents consistent. These l changes are still considered to be minor and will constitute Amendment 20 to the UFTR R-56 License as noted on the attached pages. The changes are marked with the usual vertical lines in the right-hand margin for Section 3.4.5 (Liquid Effluents Discharge), Paragraph (1) referencing 10 CFR 20.1301 and Paragraph (2) referencing 10 CFR 20.1302 and for the change in Section 4.2.4 (Radiation Monitoring Systems and Radioactive Effluents Surveillance),

Paragraph (3).  ;

These changes as requested are not considered to have any safety significance and involve changes to assure that the requirements of the new 10 CFR Part 20 effective January 1,1994 are addressed explicitly. These changes have been reviewed by UFTR management and by the Reactor Safety and Review Subcommittee Executive Committee who concur on this evaluation.

The entire mailing of this Change to Amendment 20 consists of one signed original and thirteen copies of this letter of transmittal and the two pages containing the proposed changes to the

. UFTR Technical Specifications.
