ZIMMER NUCLEAR POWER STATION - UNIT 1 10CFR50.55(e) - ITEM M HVAC DAMPER ACTUATOR DEFECTS W.O. 57300, JOB E-5590, FILE NO. 956C,11-14 This letter constitutes a follow-up t,) our interim report, QA-2178, dated December 21, 1982, and provides the status of the corrective actions for the subject 10CFR50.55(e) deficiency.
As indicated in our previous report, actual field torque measurements on the damper actuators and analysis of the torque data by Sargent & Lundy has determined that:
1.
Three actuators require replacement; 2.
Two actuators require spring replacement; and 3.
Three actuators require spring height adjustment.
In addition, torque tests and analyses are still required on ten damper actuators in the VP and VQ systems. These tests cannot be performed until the VP and VQ system ductwork installation is complete. Progress on this work l
continues to be impacted by the NRC November 12, 1982 " Order to Show Cause I
and Order Immediately Suspending Construction". A follow-up report will be submitted by July 15,1983.
We trust the above will be found acceptable cs an interim report under I
10CFR50.55(e).
