Dear Sir:
The Power Authority has reviewed the referenced study and confirmed its applicability to the FitzPatrick plant.
This study concludes that:
the current ADS initiation logic, with implementation of the BWR Emergency Procedure Guidelines, meets the intent of NUREG-0737 Item II.K.3.18; and, is adequate for all design basis events which require reactor vessel depressurization to maintain adequate core cooling.
The necessary Emergency Procedure Guidelines have been incorporated into the emergency procedures for the FitzPatrick plant.
The Authority, therefore, formally endorses this report.
The Power Authority considers NUREG-0737 Item II.K.3.18 complete for the FitzPatrick plant.
