Dear Mr. Norelius:
In our letter (Serial No. 1-352) dated April 29, 1983, Toledo Edison responded to your Inspection Report 50-346/83-01. One of the items of violation was related to Drawing Control at the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station Unit No. 1.
In Toledo Edison's response to this item it was committed that procedures for verification and maintenance of drawing indices would be in piece by May 2, 1983. Toledo Edison had procedures in place on time but subsequent use of those procedures has shown that they require upgrading. A separate procedure has been developed for index verification. Although adequate, the procedure for day-to-day index activities is undergoing a thorough review and will be modified in the near future.
Verificationofdrawingindiceswillprocefdaccordingtotheschedule listed in our April 29, 1983 letter and Toledo Edison will inform you if any further changes to our April 29, 1983 commitments are required.
