Operating License No. DPR-50 Docket No. 50-289 OTSG Tube Rupture Guidelines Per our phone conversation of June 29, 1983 with members of your staff, this letter is being sent to formally inform you of our plans to modify the tube rupture guidelines and emergency procedures you have been reviewing.
Current procedures require isolation of the affected steam generator (s) when off-site dose rates or dose projections exceed 50 mr./hr. whole body.
The planned change will modify this requirement to 50 mr./hr. whole body or 250 mr./hr. thyroid. Both of these limits correspond to the Site Emergency declaration limits. The guidelines and procedures will be revised to reflect this change by August 1, 1983.
