The purpose of this letter is to submit Revision 2 of NSPNAD-8609 for NRC approval.
Revision 2 describes the new methods based on CASMO-3/ SIMULATE-3. Nearly all values, tables, and figures have been revised consistent with the results of the new methods (changes are indicated by sidebars). The form, typical content, and much of the text is similar to Revision 1.
NSP personnel have been trained on the new physics methods and are fully qualified to use them. The code inputs for the models based on the new methodology were produced entirely by NSP personnel.
It is desired to use the physics methods described in Revision 2 for Monticello Cycle 18, in which we intend to transition to Gell fuel. In o1Aer to make a smooth transition to the new physics methods for Cycle 18, NRC approval is needed by 8/1/95.
