Dear Mr. Young blood :
Reference:
Enrico Fermi Atomic Power Plant, Unit 2 NRC Docket No. 50-341
Subject:
Emergency Operations Facility (EOF)
Detroit Edison Letter, Tauber to Youngblood, EF2 - 62,467, April 14, 1983 As stated in the subject letter, Detroit Edison has selected its Wayne / Monroe Division Headquarters as an alternate EOF.
At the request of the Project Licensing Manager, M. D. Lynch, the following additional information is supplied.
The Wayne / Monroe Division Headquarters is located 22.5 miles in a straightline northwest direction from the Fermi 2 site.
The complex is approximately 26 miles from-the site via interstate freeways and Michigan Highways.
As indicated in the referenced Edison letter, the facility was chosen because it is the Division Headquarters for Monroe and Wayne Counties, which lie in the Fermi 2 10-mile EPZ, and has adequate communication in place, including the base radio station used to direct the activities of the off-site radio-logical monitoring teams.
Suf ficient space is available to accommodate the additional personnel required for continuity of dose projection and decision-making capability.
Portable equipment will be provided for personnel to perform their assigned functions.
Should you have any questions concerning the above, please contact Larry E. Schuerman on (313) 586-4207.
Sincerely, cc:
Mr.
