57300, JOB E-5590, FILE NO. 956C, E-35 This letter constitutes an interim report concerning the subject condition initially reported to the Commission on January 4, 1983 as a potentially reportable deficiency under the requirements of 10CFR50.55 (e).

As stated in our previous letter, LOZ-83-0010, dated March 25, 1983, evaluation of the conditions found during a surveillance of electrical panels by Henry J. Kaiser Company (HJK) and The Cincinnati Gas & Electric Company indicated the need to reinspect all essential panel installations for compliance with' design document requirements.

HJK has developed and approved two Construction Inspection Plans (CIP's) for the surveillance of paint removal and the i

inspection of the electrical panel mounting welds.

HJK has identified 91 panels that require reinspection utilizing these CIP's.

Foothill Electric Company (FEC) has generated 19 work packages to remove paint.

The paint renoval and inspection effort is expected to be completed tur August 30,-1983.

A follow-up report will be submitted by October 10, 1983.
