ro U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Atomic Safety and Licensing Board Washington, D.C.20555 Judge Lawrence Brenner, Chairman; Judge Richard F. Cole; Judge Peter A. Morris IN THE MATTER OF PHILADELPHIA ELECTRIC COMPANY (Limerick Generating Stations, Unit 1 and 2)

Docket Nos. 50-352 and 50-353)

SUBJECT:

Air & Water Pollution Patrol (Romano) response to Applicant inter-rogatories received June 6, 1983.

l Gentlemen:

Many of ny answers to Applicant's interrogatories were to be hinged on response to my interrogatories of September 3, 1982. Those interrogatories

, asked that the Applicant justify its assertion that there will be "little or no effect" on atmospheric moisture contributed by the 35 million gallons of water per day (as water vapor) released by the cooling towers, as it affects the potential for aircraft hazard, in particular, potential for engine failure i due to carburetor icing.

I refer to items A to L inclusive which had to do with tests and results that Applicant should have identified to prove "little or no effect". My response in the absence of Applicant's answers are as forwarded with this letter.

Very truly yours, Air & Water Rollution Patrol
