$iP266/33- 04 AND 50-301/82-04 POINT BEACH NUCLEAP.FLANT, UNI?G 1 AND 2 The following it in response to the subject rour.ine safety inspection reports dated April 25, 1983.
The Notice of Violation stated that contrary to Procedure HP 2.4, "Containn<en t Entry Check-In/ Check-Out System', six personnel had failed to check out of Unit 2 containment on March 21, 1983.
This violation was listed as a repeat item of noncompliance in referance to an inspection reported by Messrs. P. C. Lovendale and R.
L.
Hague on September 15, 1982.
This item is accepted as an item of noncompliance.
In response to the inspection report dated October 15, 1982, Wisconsin Electric committed to modify the procedure to delete the requirement for use of the time clock.
A draft revision of the procedure had been produced for review and approval following the citation.
During this same period, all health physics procedures underwent review and reorgan-ization for consolidation and reduction of redundancy.
Due to administrative oversight, the revision of the procedure in accordance with the citation response had not been completed.
Upon realization of the status of the procedure, a review of the requirements, methods, and commitments was performed.
On May 20, 1983, Procedure HP 2.4,
" Containment Entry Check-In/ Check-Out System" was deleted.
Other procedures which referred to the system have been reviewed and changed as necessary.
This action deletes the need for the use of the time clock system for ingress or egress of the containment.
