This letter constitutes an interim report concerning the subject deficiency, reported to the NRC under the requirements of 10CFR50.55(e).
Our previous report, QA-2244, dated January 31, 1933, provided a proposed programatical method for verifying adequate Nelson Stud installa-tion.
It was scheduled that this program would be finalized by February 28, 1983. However, due to the large amount of site records which must be reviewed and evaluated in order to provide an acceptabJe sample of installed Nelson Studs for inspection and testing, we are unable to meet our completion date.
We are continuing with our proposed program as outlined in QA-2244 and have a revised completion date of the finalized verification program of April 15, 1983, at which time a report will be submitted.
We trust the above will be found acceptable as an interim report under 10CFR50.55(e).
