Dear Mr. Laurenson:
As a resident of Long Island, I am writing to you to express my concern regarding the utility-sponsored emergency (evacuation) plan recently submitted to the NRC by LILCO.
I understand that the Commission has assigned an entirely new licensing board - three men unfamiliar with the Shoreham case - to hear the emergency planning litigation.
Although the Board is not legally bound to hold further sessions, I feel (as do many of my neighbors) that the new Board needs to hear from the people.
In view of the above, I feel it necessary to present you with a formal request for an additional " limited appearance hearing" open to the public to be held on Long Island before formal litiga-tion begins.
I ask, Mr. Laurenson, that you please seriously consider this request in all fairness to our concerned community.
I have attended previous sessions of this kind and I believe that they have un-doubtedly been beneficial to all parties involved.

As residents of the eastern end of Long Island we are concerned about the safety and the Need for the Lilco Shoreham Nuclear plant.
The East End is forgotten.
Retired senior citizens cannot get in a car and drive for miles for evacuation - and to where????
