Dear Mr. Keppler:
DOCKET NOS. 50-266 AND 50-301 RESPONSE TO IE BULLETIN 83-03 POINT BEACH NUCLEAR PLANT, UNITS 1 AND 2 IE Bulletin 83-03, dated March 10, 1983, discussed check valve failures in the raw water cooling systems of diesel generators and directed Licensees to report on the verification of the integrity of the valve internals for such check valves.
Licensees were also directed to include diesel generator cooling water check valves in their Section XI pump and valve inservice test program and to report to the NRC with a listing of these check valves.
We are hereby informing you that the diesel generator cooling water flow paths at the Point Beach Nuclear Plant have been inspected and we have verified that there are no check valves in the flow path of cooling water for the diesel generators.
