CONFIRMATORY RESPONSE TO BULLETIN 93-02, SUPPLEMENT 1 DEBRIS PLUGGING OF EMERGENCY COOLING SUCTION STRAINERS FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE NPF-57 l

HOPE CREEK GENERATING STATION DOCKET NO. 50-354 NRC Bulletin 93-02, Supplement 1 was issued to inform licensees of the most recent information regarding the vulnerability of emergency core cooling system suction strainers to clogging during a loss of coolant accident.

licensees were requested to take actions to provide training for operators and emergency response personnel and enhanced procedural guidance for ECCS strainer clogging indication and response actions.

1 Hope Creek responded to this Bulletin supplement by letter to the NRC dated April 19, 1994.

In this letter Hope Creek committed to complete these actions by various dates, the latest which was July 8, 1994 (Completion of Operational Experience Feedback-sessions).

The " Reporting Requirements" section of Bulletin 93-02, Supplement 1 requested that a report be submitted within 4

30 days of completion of the requested actions confirming their l

completion.

This letter fulfills this reporting requirement.

All actions committed to in the Hope Creek response to Bulic+1n 93-02, Supplement 1 have been completed, except for one ongoing commitment to follow this issue through the BWR Owners Group ECCS Strainer Committee.

We continue to do this.
