u REQUEST TO FILE AN tJ1ICUS CURIAE BRIEF '

This letter comes as an expression of the.high level of, con-cern by the Church of the Brethren members throughout southern Ohio for

? , the public health and safety, not only of our members, but also of the communities surrounding.the. Zimmer Suelear Fower Station, Clermont County, Ohio. _

The Church. of the Brethren has a long history of being a caring agency, often serving an advocacy role for those to whom mar-gination is a reality. All too frequently, in this day, people are de-clared disposable, and the concept of trade-oifs is so easily fostered.

l-We, therefore, in order to honor our felt responsibility, are requesting per' mission to file (10 C.F.R. 12.715) the attached amicus curiae brief supporting the Micmi Valley Power Project in their efforts to obtain further public hearing before the license is granted to the Cincinnati Gas & Electric Company to operate the Zimmer Nuclear Power Station. Only as the cor.sunities are assured that they are being P306080203 830606 -
