Dear Michael:
In accordance with the Board's ruling during the July 29 status conference, I enclose copies of two redacted pages from Mr. McCoy's personal notebook which include entries that GPC has not previously produced to Intervenor. I have discussed each of the entries not previously produced with Mr. McCoy. Mr. McCoy has no present recollection of any of these entries. His current interpretation of what is referred to in each entry is set forth below.
The first page includes three entries (items 1,2 and 4) made on July 1,1990. Mr.
McCoy believes the initials in the first entry refer to George Frederick, Tom Greene and Rick Odom, but does not otherwise know what it means. Mr. McCoy believes the second entry means that Mr. Mcdonald asked about a start-up procedure and that Mr. McCoy discussed it with George Bockhold. Mr. McCoy believes the third entry (item 4) means that Mr. McCoy discussed with George Bockhold a July 24th meeting with the NRC, but he did not recall what the meeting was about or if it actually took place.
The second page includes two entries made on July 18, 1990. Mr. McCoy believes both entries refer to a telephone call Mr. McCoy received from Al Herdt of NRC's Region II office (1) to discuss a possible enforcement conference during the week of August 6 or August 20, which dates were acceptable to Mr. Hairston and Mr. Mcdonald, and which is probably the enforcement conference that took place on September 5,1990, and (2) to inform GPC that, as part of his routine visits to reactor sites, then-Commissioner James Curtiss wanted to visit Plant Vogtle on August 21 and Plant Hatch on August 22. Mr.
McCoy believes that Mr. Curtiss did, in fact, visit Plant Vogtle in that time frame.
