Dear Mr. Keppler:
This letter is to notify you of completion of a commitment by Toledo Edison Company, made during the Emergency Preparedness Appraisal at the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station, Unit 1.
Item Id of the Appraisal Report (April 20, 1982, Serial 1-261) identifies
.he need for the development and training of Emergency Action Levels (EAL's) for the Main Steam Line Radiation Monitors.
In our response to the appraisal, Toledo Edison committed to develop the EAL's and provide training to appropriate radiation assessment personnel. The EAL's were submitted to you in Revision 4 of the Davis-Besse Emergency Plan on June 23, 1982 (Serial 1-275), and we identified in our letter of August 11, 1982 (Serial 1-287) that training for personnel was completed through our required reading program on July 21, 1982.
During subsequent discussions with the Emergency Preparedness Staff, there was some concern expressed about failure to provide classroom training on EAL's.
In that light, Toledo Edison verbally agreed to provide classroom training to licensed operators during training sessions which would be completed by September 10, 1982. This classroom training commitment has now been completed.
