NONCOMPLIANCE REPORT DISCHARGE NUMBER AND DESCRIPTION:
001c Low Volume Waste Regen. Wastes Soln.
Discharge Tank PARAMETER AND PERMIT LIMIT:
Total suspended solids,15 mg/l NONCOMPLIANCE, DATE, AND DURATION:
23 mg/1, August 21, 1982, 2-1/2 hrs.
CAUSE OF NONCOMPLIANCE:
i Excessive amounts of soluble iron collected on the Make-up Demineralizers due to loss of Hydrogen Peroxide Injection from the temporary system. This iron was discharged to this outfall as insoluble iron during regeneration of the Demineralizer.
CORRECTIVE ACTION:
A permanent Hydrogen Peroxide Injection System is to be installed as soon as equipment can be purchased and delivered.
Expected completion date is January 1, 1983.
In addition a once a shift check of the Hydrogen Peroxide system is being added to the operators rounds.
