Dear Sirs:
On behalf of the Town Board of the Town of Yorktown,Iam writing to inform you of not only our grave concem but also our cynicism about FEhiA'S stated deficiencies in the Emergency Evacuation Plan.
As of this date, we have almost a total lack of equipment and have had very little training in our community.
We have six dosimeters in our Police Department, which consists of 43 men, with an average of 4 hours4.62963e-5 days <br />0.00111 hours <br />6.613757e-6 weeks <br />1.522e-6 months <br /> training per man. No protective clothing has been provided. This is unacceptable and we consider this lack of equipment and training to be every bit as important as bus transportation.
In addition, has anyone given any consideration to our road system? If there is any kind of an accident on the Taconic Parkway, the road will be blocked. The same is true for Routes 202 and Route 6.
These are the main roads to be used in the event of evacuation. Your solutions to these proble.ms are totally inadequate.
As a Town Boarti we are charged with protecting our citizens. The plan as it now stands does not permit us to do this.
Please hear us and address these concerns in a concrete manner, and not just by putting something down on paper.
