Washington, D.C.

Dear Mr. Palladino:

As a resident and State Representative from Plymouth, I urge the NRC to consider providing inspectors on a 24 hour2.777778e-4 days
0.00667 hours
3.968254e-5 weeks
9.132e-6 months
basis at Bos ton Edison's Pilgrim I plant.

The residents of Plymouth and surrounding towns have legitimate concerns about the safety of a nuclea r power plant.

Although I do not advocate the closing of this f acili ty, I do expect the NRC to fully monitor its operation.

It is the NRC's responsiblity to protect public safety and ensure full compliance with your regulations.

It seems that this can bes t be accomplished by round-the-clock independent inspections.

An issue of some concern to residents is public notification of any accidents or minor problems at the plant.

Again, the public has more confidence in the NRC than Edison management to fully report such incidences.

S i,rt e r e ly,

PETER FORMAN State Representative PF/rej cc:

Congressman Gerry Studds Senator Edward Kennedy Senator Paul Tsongas Gail Reed 8207180011
