Dear Mr. Verrelli:

Thank you for your letter of March 23, 1983 and inspection report number 50-62/83-01.

I have discussed these with my staff and have only one minor correction and one question concerning the report.

First, I would like to note that all persons listed in item number 1 of the report did attend the exit interview. While this may seem like a minor point, I feel that it is important that the record correctly reflect Director's attendance at such an interview.

Second, item 12 noted differences between the University of Virginia and NRC determinations of the activity concentrations of liquid effluent split samples.

I am interested in knowing the procedure or guidelines your laboratory uses to determine activity concentrations. Any information you could forward to us would be greatly appreciated.
