Docket No. STN 50-482 Ref:
- 1) Letter KMLNRC 82-238 dated 8/24/82 from GLKoester, KG&E to HRDenton, NRC
- 2) Letter SLNRC 83-0019 dated 4/15/83 from NAPetrick, SNUPPS, to HRDenton, NRC Subj : Wolf Creek Schedule
Dear Mr. Denton:
Reference 1 advised the NRC that the construction completion / fuel load date for Wolf Creek Generating Station, Unit No.1 (WCGS) had been revised to October 1984 from December 1983. This letter is to inform the NRC of a change in schedule for WCGS based upon the construction progress made since Reference 1 was forwarded and KG&E's current plans for completion of the construction and testing required for fuel load.
WCGS fuel load is now scheduled for August 15, 1984. Commercial Operation is planned for six months later - February 15, 1985. The means to accomplish l
this will be explained to the NRC's Caseload Forecast Panel when they visit the Wolf Creek site the week of June 13, 1983.
l l
Reference 2 provided a response for KG&E to NRC Generic Letter 82-33.
In that response, certain design features of WCGS required by NUREG-0737 Supple-ment 1 were identified as possibly not being fully implemented until the first refueling of WCGS because of the engineering, procurement, testing, training and integration required. Such items will be discussed with the Caseload Forecast Panel. KG&E will work with your staf f and, where necessary, provide justification for interim operation until the first refueling.
Your continuing excellent cooperation during the final construction phase of the Wolf Creek project will be greatly appreciated.
Sir cerely, S
