Schroeder letter to Director of Nuclear Reactor Regulation dated March 18, 1983.
Dear Sir:
Reference (a) discusses the status of Unit 2 completion with respect to the current Unit 1 License NPF-11 license conditions.
With respect to License Condition 2.C.(15), Commonwealth Edison Company stated that the same license condition to appropriate for Unit 2, i.e.,
" Prior to startup after the first refueling outage, the licensee shall install instrumentation for an automatic scram that would' shut down the reactor in the event of low control rod drive pump discharge pressure to be activated during a staruip and refueling modes only."
During a telecon on May 13, 1983 with Dr.
A. Bournia and Mr. Raj Goel of your staff, it was explained that the applicant continues to feel that this is an appropriate time frame for completion.
Currently, we have completed the design and ordered the parts required for installa-tion.
Per discussions on May 13, 1983, with Commonwealth Edison Project Engineering and Project Construction, not all of the required parts have yet been received.
This letter confirms the telecon with Dr. Bournia and Mr. Raj Goel, per their request.
To the best of my knowledge and belief the statements contained herein are true and correct.- In some respects these statements are not based on my personal knowledge but upon information furnished by other Commonwealth Edison and contractor employees.
