Dear Judge Brenner,

I hope that you will work to insure that the Shoreham Huclear Plant will not be opened, for the sake of the health and safety of the people in its vicinity. We have already seen the accident which occurred in Three Mile Island. We do not yet know enough about nuclear energy and preventing accidents. As for evacuation l plans, I don't think they'd work. The ones which have been written already are so long and complex, that I cannot imagine how anyone in an immediate emergency could follow the plans.

The other major problem is storage of nuclear wastes. In the past, some nuclear waste has been dumped in the sea. Containers holding nuclear wastes have been found to have leaks. Fish were found near the containers. Already I saw nuclear pollution may have something about this on T.V.

gotten into our food chain.

The risks of Shoreham outweigh the gains. I hope you will consider the dangers of the Shoreham Plant, and work to prevent its opening... because if you do, it will benefit us all in the long run. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Dear Judge Carpenter,

I hope that you will work to insure that the Shoreham Nuclear Power Plant will not be opened,.for the sake of the health and safety of the people living in its vicinity. We have already seen the accident which occurred in Three Mile Island. We do not yet knoe enough about nuclear energy and preventing accidents. As for evacuation plans, I don't think they'd work. The ones which have been written already are so long and complex, that I cannot imagine how anyone in the immediate emergenecy of a nuclear accident could possibly carry out those plans. The other major problem is storage of nuclear wastes. In the past, come nuclear wastes have been dumped into the sea. Containers holding nuclear wastes have been found to have leaks. Fish were found near the containers. Already nuclear pollution may have seeped into our food chain. I saw something about this on television. The risks of Shoreham outweigh the gains. I hope you will konsider the dangers of the Shoreham Plant, and do your best to prevent its opening...
