RADIOLOGCAL RESPONSE DRILL.

WHEREAS, the Rockland County Legislature, by Resolution No. 320 of 1982 l
disavowed the Radiological Emergency Response Plan prepared for Rockland County by Consolidated Edison and the Power Authority of the State of New York, and l
WHEREAS, the Rockland County Legislature has directed its Office of Emergency j
Services to prepere a Rockland County Radiological Response and Evacuation Plan, and

WHEREAS, the draft Rockland County Radiological Response and Evacuation Plan j
prepared by the Rockland County Office of Emergency Services is currently under the l
active and diligent review of the Citizens Advisory Committee pursuant to Resolution l
No. 473 of 1982, a.ad 1
l WHEREAS, the Legislature of Rockland County will not expend Rockland County j
taxpayer dollars testing a plan which has not been fully reviewed by the Citizens Advisory Committee or approved by the Rockland County Legis1?ture, end l
WHEREAS, the Rockland County Legislature further finds that Rockland County's j
participation in the scheduled March 9,1983 four-county radiological response drill would serve to mislead and provide a false sense of security to the eltizens of Rockland j
County, now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, that the Rockland County Legislature hereby directs its officials and employees not to participate 1,n the planned foumunty drill of March 9,1983, and j
be it further RESOLVED, notwithstanding that Rockland County will not participate in the planned four-county drill of March 9,1983, the Chairman of the Rockland County Legislature shall direct any County official, employees and specifically Daniel Hyman, i
M.D., Chief Kralik, Len Spiegel, Noah Weinberg, Donald Hastings and Donald McGuire to serve as observers of the exercise planned by the New York State Office of Disaster Preparedness, and be it further (continued on other side)
