Operating License No. DPR-50 Docket No. 50-289 SER - Environmental Qualification In response to your letter of December 10, 1982, GPUN has reviewed your SER and the attached TER by Franklin Research Center with particular attention to NRC categories I.B.,
II.A and II.B.
As discussed in a telephone conversation between L. W. Harding (GPUN) and J. Van Vliet (NRC) on February 2, 1983 and V. Noonan (NRC) on February 8, GPUN requests a meeting with the NRC and FRC to discuss, in detail, misunderstandings we have noted in the TER.
Enclosed for your information and in advance of our meeting is a matrix indicating apparent misunderstanding's we have noted in the analysis performed by FRC.
Until such time as a meeting is held and these items are resolved, a schedule for corrective action cannot be developed. However, it is our in-tention to assure environmental qualification of class IE electrical equipment in harsh environments by March 31, 1985, as required by 10 CFR 50.49.
Based on the above, the schedule for our 90 day response will be determined pending the outcome of our meeting.
