Puget Sound Power & Light Company Skagit/Hanford Nuclear Project, Units 1 & 2 Docket Nos. 50-522 and 50-523 May Junction Monocline Confirmatory Investigations

Dear Mr. Denton:

In the Skagit/Hanford Nuclear Project Safety Evaluation Report Supplement No. 3, the NRC Staff proposed, as a condition to the construction permits, that the Applicants conduct additional confirmatory investigations of the May Junction monocline to be completed before any major construction activities are undertaken at the Site.

The Applicants commit to conduct the proposed additional investigations, similar to those identified as Phases III and IV in Applicants' August 4,1982, letter to the NRC. We will consult with the Staff at the appropriate time on the details of the additional investigations.
