J. M. Farley Nuclear Plant NRC Inspection of November 27-December 15, 1982 RE:
Report No. 50-348/82-29 Report No. 50-364/82-30
Dear Mr. Lewis:
This letter refers to the violation in the subject inspection report which states:
" Technical Specification 6.8.1 requires written procedures be established and implemented.
Contrary to the above, on December 6, 1982, annunciator response procedures were not followed in that the causes of two alarmed annunciators on the emergency electrical control board, annunciators 20 and V51, were not promptly determined and corrected as required by their :,iarm response pro-cedure, FNP-0-ARP-2, Revision 2."
Admission or Denial The above violation occurred as described in the subject report.
Reason for Violation The violation cited in the NRC inspection report was caused by personnel error. Operations personnel failed to utilize annunciator response pro-cedures.
Corrective Actions Taken and Results Achieved The cause for the annunciator was determined and the condition corrccted.
An operations memorandum has been written to licensed operations personnel l
discussing this incident and emphasizing the importance of responding to alarmed annunciators, knowing the cause for the annunciator and initiating prompt action to clear the annunciator.
In addition, this incident will be discussed in the next requalification training cycle for licensed personnel.

Date of~ Full Compliance The operations memorandum was issued February 1, 1983. The dis-cussion of this incident with licensed personnel will be completed by the end of the requalification training cycle on May 27, 1983.
