!n response to your Safety Evaluation Report (SER) for Environmental Qualification of Safety Related Electrical Equipment dated December 10, 1982, GPUN hereby reaffirms its position as previously stated in cur letters of July 2,1981 and August 28, 1981 that TMI-l can be operated safely during the resolution of environmental qualification deficiencies i
described in this and the previous SER of March 21, 1981.
Further, in Section 3 of Appendix D of the TER attached to the SER, dated December 10, 1982, Franklin Research Center states that there are no additional items requiring justification for continued operatien.
Therefore, there are no additional NRC Category I.B.II. A and II.3 iters for which justifi-cation for continued operation has not been provided.
Finally, with the exception of the few subcompenents cc: =itted to be replaced, all IE equipment located in a harsh envirennent and required fcr safe shutdown is qualified.
