SUMMARY

DISPOSITION (CONTENTION NECNP I.D.1)

Pursuant to 10 CFR S 2.749, the Applicants hereby move for summary disposition of contention NECNP I.D.1.

This motion is submitted upon the affidavit of John L. Lance, attached hereto. As is set forth in Mr.

Lance's affidavit, the ultrasonic testing of reactor vessel welds during preservice and inservice examination will be pursuant to ASME Section XI as D

, 4 specified in the PSI /ISI programs and per the requirements of Reg. Guide 1.150 as modified by the Recore:nended Changes to Regulatory Guide 1.150 presented to NRC in August of 1982.

This will assure compliance with GDC 1 inasmuch as the testing will be to identified, applicable and sufficient generally recognized codes and standards and thus there remains no factual issue to be heard in connection with NECNP 1.D.l.

, s STATMENT OF MATERIAL FACTS AS TO WHICH THERE IS NO DISPUTE

1. Seabrook reactor vessel welds will be examined during preservice and inservice examinations using the requirements of ASME Section XI as specified in the PSI /ISI programs and per the requirements of Reg. Guide 1.150 as modified by Recommended Changes to Regulatory Guide 1.150 as presented to NRC in August of 1982.
2. The PSI contractor, NES of Danbury, CT has the demonstrated ability to carry out inspections in accordance with the above-named codes and standards.
