This letter constitutes an interim report concerning the subject condition, initially reported to the Commission as a potentially re-portable deficiency under the requirements of 10CFR50.55(e).
As stated in cur previous report, QA-2075, dated October 25, 1982, CG&E intends to perform destructive tests to determine the heat treatment for samples of four heats of piping listed on NR #E-4337. A document review has identified the locations of each heat in the plant, however, because of the NRC's November 12, 1982 " Order to Show Cause and Order Immediately Suspending Construction," this pipe could not be cut out for the necessary tests by the expected completion date.
The removal of the pipe is, therefore, contingent upon the release of the Commission's Order for work in this area. A follow-up report will be submitted by April 15, 1983.
We trust the above will be found acceptable as an interim report under 10CFR50.55(e).
