- 90-617-03-OLA GEORGIANS AGAINST liUCLEAR ENERGY (GANE) RESPONSE TO NRC STAFF MOTION FOR RECONSIDERATION OF LICENSING BOARD'S ORDER OF JANUARY 22, 1991 AND REQUEST FOR STAY We have before us a serious safety question about Nuclear Plant Vogtle. The parties agree that there is a problem with the high-jacket water temperature trip. The parties disagree about the solution proposed by Georgia Power Company and endorsed by the NRC Staff. Until it is proven that an operator can effectively perform the function of the high-jacket water temperature trip, the public remains at a level of risk not allowable under NRC regulation.
