In a letter dated September 30, 1993,m Northeast Nuclear Energy company (NNECO) transmitted a license amendment request that included changes to the Millstone Unit No. 3 Technical Specifications related to the emergency diesel generator (EDG) fuel oil storage capacity.
Specifically, the proposed changes will increase the volume of fuel oil required to be stored in the EDG day tank and clarify the bases for the EDG fuel oil storage tank and day tank minimum fuel oil requirements.
In a letter dated April 7, 1994,A the NRC requested additional information pertaining to our license amendment request dated September 30, 1993.
A meeting was held with the NRC Staff in the NRC's offices in Rockville, Maryland on June 22, 1994, to discuss the Staff's questions concerning the EDG fuel oil storage capacity.
The attached responses to the NRC's question; reiterate the responses provided at the meeting.
We believe the above information, coupled with the information provided in our September 30,
- 1993, submittal, provides a
complete basis for approval of the requested amendment.
