Enclosed are 4 copies of the " Robert E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant Training and C'ualification Plan for Security Officers " Revision 3" dated June 27,1994. The revised Training and 01alification Plan is being submitted under the provisions of 10CFR50.54(p) as it does not degrade the security of the plant.
Important features of the revised Training and Qualification Plan are that it:
eliminates the requirement to operate the handheld explosive detector, as it has been replaced by an additional portal explosive detector for increased redundancy.
exempts Security Training Department instructors from the requirement to requalify yearly on certain critical security tasks.
The 12 gauge shotgun course of fire has been modified to:
eliminate the requalification requirement to fire the shotgun from the hip, 1
modify the minimum score requirement for 12 gauge shotgun requalification from 50% to 80W.
I In order to facilitate NRC review, changes are described in a Synopsis of Changes and highlighted in the plan by side-bars locatcd to the left of the revised text.
Although the enclosures contain no Safeguards Information, portions of the Training and Qualitication Plan for Secuii'y Officers are classified as Safeguards Information and must be protected from public disclosure in accordance with the prcvisions of Part 73.21 Code of Federal Regulations.
