DPR-42 50-306 DPR-60 Core Operating Limits Report for Prairie Island Unit 1 Cycle 17 The attached revision to the Core Operating Limits Report for Prairie Island Unit 1 Cycle 17 is being provided in accordance with the requirements of Technical Specification Section 6.7.A.6.
The limits specified in the attached Core Operating Limits Report have been established using NRC approved methodology.
The Unit 1 Core Operating Limits Report has been revised to incorporate the following changes for Cycle 17:
- 1. The Heat Flux Hot Channel Factor and Nuclear Enthalpy Rise Hot Channel Factor Limits have been revised.
- 2. The peak linear heat generation rates used in the ECCS analyses have been revised.
- 3. Figure 1 has been revised to incorporate a K(z) value of 1 for the full core height.
- 4. The table containing the bounding V(z) values for three different exposure ranges has been replaced with six figures containing bounding V(z) curves.
- 5. Additional information related to the bases for the K(z) and V(z) penalties j
has been incorporated.
