DOCKET NOS. 50-266 AND 50-301 RESOLUTION OF APPENDIX R EXEMPTION REQUESTS POINT BEACH NUCLEAR PLANT, UNITS 1 AND 2 On March 22, 1983, Wisconsin Electric representatives attended a meeting with members of your Staff to discuss resolution of our 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix R, fire protection exemption requests.
During that meeting, agreements were reached concerning all but two of the exemptions we had previously requested.
We had agreed at that meeting to provide additional information and written confirmation of the commitments made at that meeting by l
April 20, 1983.
l Subsequently, several telephone conference calls were held with Dr. W. V. Johnston to discuss the remaining two exemp-tion requests.
At the last of these calls on March 31, 1983, tentative agreements were reached with Dr. Johnston which would resolve the considerations regarding these last two exemption requests.
Dr. Johnston asked at the conclusion of that call that we provide this additional information by April 28, 1983.
We indicated at that time that we still expected to provide a submittal l
by April 20, 1983, but would inform you if additional time was necessary.
I We have essentially completed our submittal discussing these matters.
However, because of travel conflicts, we shall require an additional several days to complete our internal manage-ment review and approval of this document.
Accordingly, our letter discussing the agreements reached at both the March 22 meeting and the subsequent telephone calls will be submitted early in the (7 ) (
C week of April 25, 1983, but no later than April 28, 1983.
