DPR-42 50-306 DPR-60 Delay in Implementation Schedule for NUREG-0737, Item III.D.3.4, Control Room Habitability Modification In our letter dated June 4, 1982 we stated that plant modifications required by NUREG-0737, Item III.D.3.4, would be completed by January 1, 1983.
It now appears that we will be unable to complete this project as originally scheduled.
The purpose of this letter is to revise the completion date provided in our June 4, 1982 letter and provide a new schedule of key activities for this project.
Our new schedule projects a completion date of March 15, 1983. This represents a delay of two and one-half months in our original schedule. Major reasons for this delay are:
- a. Engineering delays - the design of the sampling equipment and method of installation continually evolved and required extensive redesign work.
- b. Material delaf - untimely material and equipment delivery has been a continuing cause fec construction delay.
- c. Limited Manpower - The Prairie Island Unit I refueling outage is scheduled to begin on November 13, 1982 and end on December 17, 1982. The individuals assigned to bench test the instrumentation and calibrate the system after installation are the same individuals needed for other outage activities.
