Dear Mr. Keppler:
Reference (a) stated that replacement piping for Unit #1 will be completed by October 15, 1982.
At the present time the
- piping is complete except for the tie to Unit #1 RCIC ~ system inside the building.
This work requires at least a six (6) day outage.
The work will be completed during -the first available outage of six (6) days or greater.
This delay should not present any safety concerns as the existing Unit #1 piping has successfully passed required tests.
Commonwealth Edison decided to replace the Unit #1 piping in order to avoid the cracking problem exhibited by-the Unit -#2 piping.
