(1) EQUIPMENT QUALIFICATION REPORT VOLUMES I & 2, REVISION 1 Consumers Power Company submitted an initial Equipment Qua'11fication (EQ)

Report by our referenced letter. The enclosed revision to the EQ Report

' basically replaces the original report because the information is much more extensive and complete and it also reflects some changes in regulatory requirements.

The extent of Consumers Power Company environmental equipment qualification program was discussed with the NRC staff at a meeting on November 9, 1982.

The revised EQ report includes the following items:

1.

Updated equipment and systems lists.

2.

Additional and updated vendor and A/E information for equipment qualification 3.

Qualifying information in high energy line break accidents in the auxiliary building 4.

Sample radiation dose calcuations surunaries for areas in the reactor and auxiliary buildings 5.

Revised mild environment position to agree with current regulatory L.

The FSAR changes to section 3.11 required as a result of the revised EQ report m

will be incorporated into FSAR revision 47 scheduled to be issued during January 1983.

We believe the Midland environmental qualification program is adequate for an NRC audit. In earlier telecons with the NRC Staff, we established an audit date of January 10; 1983. As agreed, the record review will occur,in the Consumers Power Company offices in the Bechtel Building in Ann Arbor, Michigan and the installed equipment evaluatio'n will occur at Midland Plant site in Midland, Michigan.

Should any questions arise concerning the contents of the enclosed or the scheduled audit, please advise us.
