APPLICABILITY: MODES 3**,

4**, and 5 **

ACTION:

With.less than the above required position indicator (s) OPERABLE, imme-diately insert all rods or, immediately open the reactor trip system breakers.

SURVEILLANCE REQUIREMENTS 4.1. 3. 3 Each of the above required position indicator (s) shall be deter-mined to be OPERABLE by performance of Specifications 4.1.3.2.1 and 4.1. 3. 2. 2 *.

  • During maintenance or survej? lance actions on the analog indicators in Modes 3,4, or 5, it may not be feasible to have an OPERABLE analog position indicator for each rod not fully inserted.

In addition, due to known temperature affects below 547*F, the analog position indicators may not be able to perform within 12-step accuracy required above 547*F.

These two situations are acceptable provided that each affected rod is assumed to be fully withdrawn, for the purposes of keff calculations and minimum boron concentration calculations.

    • With the reactor trip system breakers in the closed position.
