I am writing to bring your totyour attention, a recent Summary Review (enclosed)s that affects a case that I have pending in US District Court against Boston Edison.

g In Februa y M985 while working at the' Pilgrim Nucicar Plant, myself and two r

others were sent into a contaminated area without respirators. We became internally contaminated with COBOLT 60 (lunts, thyroid). '

As you can imagine, this has been the cause of much fear and mental anguish, as well as physical problems. Because I can' t. prove my,, physical problems are a direct I

result of my exposure, It seems I no longer have a case "IN Massachussetts".

My lawyers, Scott Tucker and David Pelte of Parker, Coulter, Daley, and White 1 Beacon St. Boston 1 617 723 4500 have told me that had thur case been in

/

New Jersy it would be a dif ferent story. They have also said that the Caputo Case (encl.)

wan we-k and should not have been taken,'but~ that 'it han set a bad precedent.

Mr. Studds I suf fer f rom cronic f atigue and headaches as well as other problems.

I have a Down syndrome child. Hy wife lost all of her hair six months after this incident, (it has since grown back).

I believe these investgations'being conducted i

cround the plant are a jnke. Uc have never been contacted by anyone, even though the first question asked at the Jordan Hospital, were my wif e sought treatment for her hairloss, was "Does your husband work at ths plant.".

Boston Edison had a public relations man on the Board of Directors at hospital at the time. Very poor records were kept reguarding my wifes visit.. Other workers with Down Syndrme children and various other problems have not been contacted and f actord into the big picture.

i I

I feel an if I am fighting city hall. I don' t trust Edison, the NRC, or even my own lawyers. They recommend we t.ry to get a small settlement from Edison, to "Make us go away", even though this would leave my f amily without recourse should any thing happen to me in the future. I have told them no, that i vish to pursue this to the end if only as a matter of principic.

(

't Thank you for your time.

I i

Sincerely, l

/
