South Texas Project Units 1 & 2 Docket Nos. STN 50-498, STN 50-499 Shutdown of the Onsite Meteorological Measurements Program This letter is intended to confirm a conversation between our Mr. M. E.

Powell and your Mr. D. E. Sells on September 27, 1982 regarding the shutdown of the onsite meteorological measurements program.

We believe that the criteria as outlined in Regulatory Guide 1.70, Section 2.3.3 have been met.

We have shutdown the onsite meteorological measurement _ nrogram and will resume the monitoring approximately eighteen (18) months prior to fuel load.
