Dear Mr. Denton:
Enclosed is the SNUPPS Control Room Fire Hazards Analysis report. A preliminary version of this report was presented and discussed with the NRC staff during a meeting in Bethesda, Maryland on October 19, 1982.
Based on comments received.from the NRC staff and the results of fur-ther analysis, the report has been modified to 1) document the decision to install transfer switches to preclude repairs to certain electrical control circuits, 2) reflect the conclusion that only.one component cool-ing water pump is required to be operating during initial recovery from the postulated fire, and 3) clarify how compliance with portions of 10CFR Part 60, Appendix R has been achieved.
Information from the enclosed report will be incorporated into a future revision of the SNUPPS Final Safety Analysis Report.
Very truly yours, I
s b
