PAkAMETER AND PERMIT LIMIT:
pH, 6.0-9 0 S.U.
l'ONCOMPLIANCE, DATE, AND DURATION:
4.6, 24SEP82, 8 Hours CAUSE OF NONCOMPLIANCE:
At 0550 Hrs. 23SepS2, the tank was sampled to verify neutralization

prior to discharge. The result was 6.1 S.U. pH.
At the end of the discharge a second sample was pulled which showed the pH to be 4.6 S.U.
A third sainple,was pulled that verified the 4.6 pH.
The cause of the pH change is unknown all inputs to the tank were isolated from the time

of the first sample on.
CORRECTIVE ACTION:
An error in the sampling or analysis is suspected. A review of the flush time used for flushing the sample line is being done to insure the time is adequate to obtain a representative sample.
