- UNITED STATES MUCLEAI: REGULATORY C0pplISSION DOCKET NO. 50-293 BOSTON EDIS0N COW ANY-NOTICE OF ISSUANCE OF AMENDIENT TO FACILITY OPERATING 1.Ia c E The U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Consnission (the Consnission) has issued Amendment No. 63
+o facility Operating License No. DPR-35 issued to Boston Edison Company (the licensee) which revised the Technical Specifications for operation of the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station (the facility) located near Plymouth, Massachusetts. The amendment is effective as of the date of issuance.
The amendment modifies the Technical Specifications to clarify condi-tions for which containment isolation valve operability is required and actions to be taken in the event of containment isolation valve inopera-bility.
The application for amendment complies with the standards and rtquire-ments of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act), and the Commission's rules and regulations. The Comission has made appropriate findings as required by the Act and the Comission's rules and regulations in 10 CFR Chapter I, which are set forth in the license amendment. Prior public notice of this amendment was not required since it does not. involve a significant hazards consideration.

The Comission has detemined that the issuance of this amendment will not result in any significant environmental impact and that pursuant to 10 CFR Section Sl.5(d)(4) an environmental impact statement or negative declaration and environmental impact appraisal need not be prepared in connection with the issuance of the amendment.

DPR-35, and (3) the Commission's letter to the licensee dated October 21, 1982.
