CATEGORICAL EXCLUSION UNDER PROVISION OF 10 CFR 51.22(c)(11)
In a request for license' renewal dated April 21, 1989, GE requested removal of its Radiological Contingency Plan for the Vallecitos Nuclear Center under L 10CFR70.22(1)(1)(1). This request was a result of evaluations showing that I potential accidents will result in an effective dose equivalent of less than 1 rem and a thyroid dose of less than 5 rem to a member of the public, and the issuance-of a new rule on Emergency Preparedness for Fuel Cycle and Other Radioactive Material Licenses which,became effective on April 7, 1990.
The proposed removal of the radiological. contigency plan is an administrative action which (1) will- not change or increase the types or amounts of any effluents which may be released offsite, (ii) will not increase individual or >
cumulative occupational radiation exposure, (iii) will not have any construction:
impact,.and (iv) will not significantly increase the potential for or consequences from radiological accidents.
Therefore, in accordance with 10 CFR 51.22(c)(11), an environmental assessment
.is not warranted for this action.
