WHEREAS the Middle Country Central School District's Board of Eaccation has as its prime concern the welfare of the children of the School District and WHEREAS the Long Island Lighting Compcny has not been able to insure that its proposed Shorehcm Power P3 nt can meet acceproble safety standards, and WHEREAS no acceptchle evacuation plan has been devised by the Long Island Lighting Company and Suffolk County BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education in the interest b of protecting the welfare of the children of Middle Country, does hereby go on record as opposed to the opening of the Shoreham Power Plant until both on acceptable scfety standard con be met and on acceptchle evacuation plan con be developed.
The resciution was declared duly adopted.
