Subject:
Oconce Nuclear Site Docket Nos. 50-269,-270,-287 Inspection Report 50-269,-270,-287/93-23 Reply to Notice of Violation - Revision
Dear Sir:
By letter dated September 24, 1993 the NRC issued a Notice of Violation as described in inspection Report No. 50 269/93-23,50-270/93-23, and 50 287/93-23.
Duke Power Company provided a response to the violation on October 25,1993.
On January 6,1994, Duke notified the NRC of a revised commitment date concerning the Molded Case Circuit Breaker Test and Inspection Procedure. The procedure change was originally scheduled to be completed by December 15,1993, but'was rescheduled for completion by April 15,1994, prior to the Unit I outage.
The molded case circuit breaker testing, which is a pilot program, will not be performed during the upcoming Unit I outage. We plan to resume testing during the Unit 2 End of Cycle 15 refueling outage, which is currently scheduled to begin September 10, 1994. The procedure revision, as well as a review of the entire program, will be completed prior to the Unit 2 End of Cycle 15 refueling outage.
If you have any questions, please contact Susan C. Perry at (803) 885-3300.
Very truly yours, f
