LER 82-53 (U-1)

Dear Mr. Haynes:

This letter is to confirm our verbal notification of your Mr. Dave Trimble of the discovery that our only operable hydrogen analyzer was technically inoperable for a brief period of time.

At 1045 on September 10, 1982 with Units No. I and 2 in Mode 1, it was discovered that the common hydrogen analyzer (T.S. 3.6.5.1) was unintentionally adjusted out of calibration rendering the unit in-operable. The instrument was recalibrated and returned to service at 1125 terminating the event.

A complete description of the events leading to this discovery and any further corrective actions will be addressed in a follow-up report.
