Mr. Farnam is a 20-year veteran of the nuclear industry and is within one semester of completing the requirements for a Bachelor of Science degree in Radiation Protection. With 12 years of applied radiation protection experience at the Callaway Plant, including 11 years as a Health Physics Supervisor, Mr. Farnam has the technical competence to establish radiation protection programs and the supervisory capability to -
direct the work of professionals, technicians, and journeymen required to implement the radiation protection programs. He is familiar with the design features and operation of the Callaway Plant that affect the potential for exposures of persons to radiation.

E U.S. NRC March 25,1994 Page 2 Mr. Farnam's operational and technical experience in nuclear power and his applied radiation protection experience at the Callaway Plant satisfy the training and experience requirements of Reg. Guide 1.8 as clarified in NUREG/CR-55G9.
Union Electric will submit a license amendment request to revise Technical Specification 6.3.1.2 to allow a supervisor below the Superintendent, Health Physics to be designated as the RPM.

As a Rad / Chem Supervisor on rotating shift, duties included assignment, supervision, and the subsequent review of routine and not-routine radiological
- surveys, Health Physics instrumentation calibration records, and respiratory protection records.
Performed the duties of ALARA Coordinator during 1991-1993 which included the Review and approval of Radiation Work Permits (RWP) and the performance of Pre-and Post-Job ALARA Reviews on RWPs and associated task. Other duties included the review of plant modifications for radiological concerns, development of plant and department ALARA goals, tracking of plant and departmental radiation exposure, administration of the temporary shielding program, and ALARA planning for future outages.

September 1981 Research Center. Performed destructive and non-destructive Babcock and Wilcox examinations on irradiated components including spent fuel Lynchburg Research assemblies. Work required the use of sophisticated remote Center technologies to maintain radiation exposures ALARA.
Performed radiological surveys in support of the aforementioned work.
Provided support for the repair of reactor plant components both at the Lynchburg Research Center and at nuclear power stations in support of plant outages.

Engineering Laboratory Technician assigned to perform September 1979 chemical and radiochemical analysis of reactor and steam plant United States Navy systems. Performed calculations and measurements required USS Enterprise for the adjustment and control of these parameters.
